I've been playing ukulele for 3 years and this is the third ukulele I've owned. I owned a Kala KA-MT Tenor (~$260) that I passed onto my girlfriend and then moved onto a custom KoAloha tenor ukulele (~$1300). Big leap there--I wanted my next ukulele to fill in the void of a lower price bracket while also possessing excellent tone, intonation, and looks. You'd think I'm asking for too much but these are all qualities I've found in Koa Pili Koko. This might be by far the most competitive priced SOLID wood ukulele that's set up pretty well, looks darn good, and sounds great.

My KPK is my first concert sized ukulele and I have no qualms with the smaller size compared to the tenor. What did take getting used to was the lack of a fretboard marker for the 12th fret. There are only markers for 5, 7, and 10; and only one side marker at the 7th fret. I rely on the 12th marker to help identify where I am on the fretboard when I want to really play higher on the scale. It will take adjustment personally--and I doesn't make me think any lower about the instrument or the company--but I hope they implement a 12th marker in the future for the concert models.
